Plymouth 10k - Race Information

Race Registration:

Race Numbers, Timing Chips and Race Information will be sent to your home address 7-10 days prior to race day.


Start Time:

Sunday 8th October 2017. 08:30.


Race HQ:

Will be based in Plymouth Guildhall. There will be an Information Desk in The Foyer to deal with any last minutes questions. Lost property and lost persons will be dealt with at this point.


Race Entries:

Race entries will close on Sunday 17th September 2017.

Entry transfers must be submitted before Sunday 10th September.


Elite Athletes:

We will give Free Entry to Elite Athletes who meet the following:

Men: Sub 30:30

Women: Sub 35:20


Cash Refunds for Bulk Bookings

Run Plymouth will offer a cash refund for bulk entries from clubs, businesses, charities or services.

Run Plymouth will refund the organisation the following amounts based on the number of entries:

  • 10+ entries - £18
  • 20+ entries - £36
  • 30+ entries - £54
  • 40+ entries - £72
  • 50+ entries - £90

Please ensure your team enter under the same Team Name and Category when entering online.

Once entered, individuals will receive a confirmation email confirming race number and event information.

Please note: All Club entrants must be affiliated to England Athletics. Club runners cannot run for both Club and Charity/Corporate/Military/Services (Police, Fire, Ambulance, Coastguard).


Changing/Baggage:

Changing and Baggage facilities will be based inside the Plymouth Guildhall.


Toilets:

Toilets are situated within Plymouth Guildhall and outside.


Medical:

Provision will be based within the Start/Finish Area and on the course.


Timing:

The event will be using Chip Timing. Official results will be published using Gun Time and Chip Time, which will be available post race.

Please ensure you submit your mobile number when booking online. SMS results will be sent post race.

Results will be published on www.runplymouth.co.uk


Marshals:

Marshals will be placed throughout the route, supported by traffic management operatives and signage.

Please be aware of any instructions should they need to communicate with you.


Water Station:

A Water Station will be situated at 5km and water will be available at the end of the event.

Rules of Competition:

Athletes must be age 15 years and above on race day.

Club vests must be worn by athletes who want to count for Team Prizes, these athletes must also have to be registered affiliated athletes.

Race Numbers must be secured by pins to the front of your garment and must not be folded. The whole of the number must be intact and visible.

Race Numbers are issued to the individual athlete completing the application form.

Athletes who receive transferred numbers without permission will be disqualified from the race. Both runners will be subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate National Association.*

*If you have entered but are now unable to run and would like to give your number to a fellow athlete you can do so up until Sunday 10th September 2017. An admin fee of £5.00 will be charged, please contact info@runplymouth.co.uk to receive the entry transfer from.

A runner must retire immediately if ordered to do so by a medical officer of the race.

Runners who retire from a race must not remove their number card until they have reported to an official as having retired from the race.

Dogs are not permitted to accompany the runner.

Any Wheelchair Athletes must be self propelled (please inform the Race Director).

Emergency Contact Details and any medication or medical condition should be notified to the Race Director and included on the template on the reverse of your race number.

Please pass this information on to the Race Director (this information will only be shared with the Medical Manager).

No athlete can be accompanied other than a blind or partially sighted athlete using a guide runner.


Refund Policy

Run Plymouth has a no refund policy. Runners can transfer their entry but must do so before Sunday 10th September. A £5 admin fee will be charged. Please contact info@runplymouth.co.uk to request an ‘Entry Transfer Form’.

Participant Information

  1. Only the person entering the race can compete*
  2. You cannot be accompanied by anyone who has not entered the race, nor by such as a walkers and cyclists
  3. Do not stop to take selfies or use selfie sticks
  4. You are advised not to wear ear plugs for music - you could miss vital instructions
  5. You cannot be pushed around the course
  6. You cannot push a child around the course in a buggy or pushchair
  7. You must seek approval from the organiser if you are thinking of undertaking a challenge of any description during the race
  8. If you compete in fancy dress please ensure that you are properly hydrated
  9. Wheelchair Athletes must be self propelled (not hand cranked or electric)
  10. You cannot carry a child around any part of the course

Anyone found to be giving or selling their race number to another person will be banned from future Event West Limited events and disqualified (this applies to both the people involved)
